- Fresh or dried sweet basil, if dried about 1 tablespoon, if fresh a couple of leaves chopped up
- Salt and Pepper
- Sugar, about 1 teaspoon. I like my sauce sweet.
- A nice drizzle of good imported extra virgin olive oil
